Asia, Japan / 03.11.2016

I took off my yukata, and got dressed as fast as my just-woken-up-hands allowed. Still, cold crept up to my bones. But when you’re waking up at 6am in a Buddhist Temple, deep in the mountains, in Japan’s most sacred town of Koyasan, and you’re expected at the shrine for the morning ceremony, details like cold become irrelevant. Asia, Confessions, Thailand / 24.10.2016

Before we leave Thailand, I’d like to look back on our time in this amazing country. It’s been two months with its ups and downs, beaches and forests, oceans and lakes, Muay Thai and massages, karst to no end and too many motorbike rides to count. I firmly believe that when you actively reflect upon the time spent in a place, it prevents it from being a fleeting trip once lived. It becomes permanent, somehow, as you realize how and why this place changed you. This change will still be a part of you even after you are long gone.
Confessions, Diary / 06.10.2016

Lately it seems like everywhere I turn there’s 30 before 30 lists. I can’t escape them. I’ve read a couple of them and every time I do I feel drained by the last point. There’s so much expected from us. Too much we have to accomplish “before it’s too late”. Before the chance of being “someone in life” (what the hell does that even mean, anyway) is lost the day you turn the big three-O. Well, guys and girls, this week I turned twenty-nine so, according to the internet, I’m officially screwed.
