We’ve traveled to 26 countries together, 40 in total. We’ve lived in 3 countries and in 4 cities. We traveled full-time and lived out of backpack for a year. Still missing Mexican food terribly, our journey continues.
When we met in 2006 we both had plane tickets bought. He was leaving two weeks later to go to summer school in Europe, and I was ready to leave for college in Spain.
We both dreamed of exploring the world, of getting out there, venturing into the unknown, learning about other cultures, and having as much fun as we possibly could. Little did we know that we would end up doing just that… together.

Exactly one year later we took a trip of a lifetime to Southeast Asia with Isaac’s best friend, and fellow travel and adventure junkie.
While exploring the cities of Bangkok, diving in Koh Tao, marveling at the mosques in Malaysia, or riding a motorbike (covered in mud from head to toe) in Cambodia, we realized that, for us, that’s exactly what gave our life meaning. Traveling gave us a drive to be alive.

So, on our wedding day four years later, we vowed to explore the world together. The time to discover new places, to live new adventures, had finally come.
With no plan, no jobs, and no permanent address, (but with one hell of a playlist), we left everything in Mexico and a new chapter in Barcelona began. Since then we’ve moved four times-Washington DC, California, a year traveling full-time, and Melbourne, Australia– and each has provided experiences and adventures that only fuel our passion for creating everlasting instants around the world, as well as our conviction that we should never stand still.

The possibilities are endless.
The future is pretty uncertain but that’s exactly what we love. We just hope we can keep traveling around the world, plan new adventures, venture into spontaneous ones, and cross off as many experiences as we can off our bucket list.
MapNomads was born out of our passion for traveling the world, one adventure at a time, and writing all about it. It’s the space where we share it all with you: travel stories and tips, crazy misadventures, and often too-personal confessions.

We want, above all, to show you that getting out of your comfort zone is scary but pretty damn rewarding, and especially, to inspire you to create and fulfill your very own bucket list.
So thank you for reading and being a part of the journey. It’s great to have you come along.
